Once there was an authority that did not have much power to govern. When something happened that threatened life, this Authority helped to preserve life.

When the emergency was over the Authority realized that all the threatened life survived.

This is now a powerful Authority, that governs many, many people.

As the Angels of Heaven, Earth and Under the Earth would say, “We have done only what we ought”.

I worked hard to stay married, I worked hard to get educated, I worked hard to support family members. One day I realized, I am not married to that person anymore, I have a company, I am a writer and seems I spend a lot of time writing and not with my family.

Now I am past midlife crisis (some call it over 30 life review), because I am educated, not married anymore, and my family loves and supports me because they remember and benefit continuously from the love and support I gave them. I guess I am ready to start over again.

I am older, the secret will be that I won’t work as hard, I will work smarter.

Why is that a let down? What ever it may be…

Because I worked hard to do that!

Why is that a let down?

Because I can not control it, I should not have put on that hat!

Why not that hat? The hat represents different roles, we all have some we play. Mother, daughter , sister, brother, father, cousin, aunt, uncle, student, classmate, teacher, friend, co-worker, customer, employee, boss, you will have roles to some day.

And Daniel walked into the cave, Simon screamed. “Daniel the lion is here.” Daniel looked and then turned picked up a stick, as the lion moved closer, Simon moved out of Daniel’s way.

After a short fight, Daniel was freed. He and Simon left the cave. Simon stated, “The lions are hard to get along with. I am happy that one is gone.” Daniel stayed silent.

What is your lion? (Fight), What keeps you silent? Who is hard to get along with?

The symbols in this short story allow a look at what motivates us to love, learn, accomplish, and dream.
